Three Poems by Gemma Gorga, Translated by Sharon Dolin

[I throw a pebble into water]

I throw a pebble into water, and the water learns the word shipwreck.

I pass my hand over paper, and the paper learns the word caress.

I enter the sea and the waves learn how to say my name.
